COZUMEL

In the second year of business school, I had to do a 3-month internship abroad. Several female students had gone to Mexico, in the Playa del Carmen area, to organize weddings. So it made me want to search the area too. I spent 3 months in Cozumel, a small Caribbean island, working and living in a 5-star hotel in the marketing and travel organization part.

Cozumel is an amazing island, the water is warm and has several variations of blues. The weather is nice almost all the time and the minimal temperatures in winter are 21°C. The island lives a lot from tourism but also remains very natural and authentic. I lived there the most beautiful moments of my life ...

My recommendations:

- Take an excursion al cielo with Tiger Cozumel Tour, you will live an incredible moment with this crazy character! Drinks and food included !

- Spend the day at Chankanaab park and dive to see the statue at the bottom of the water.

- Stroll between the ruins of San Gervasio.

CHICHEN ITZA

Chichen Itzá is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is located in Yucatán between Mérida and Valladolid. The Mayan ruins date, it seems, from the 10th century. This archaeological site is very well preserved and very important in the Mayan culture because the various temples erected for the Mayan gods. Several buildings are on the site: el Castillo, main pyramid, the astronomical observatory, the large ball game field, the sacred cenote, etc. It is a real immersion in the Mayan culture.

A large number of souvenir sellers and artists come every day to sell their objects to visitors, which also makes long displays of statues and other magnificent decorations ...

My recommendations:

- Sleep in a small hotel the day before near a cenote , such as Hotel Dolores Alba Chichen Itza.

- Bring a picnic and fresh water to be able to spend the day in the park of Chichen Itza.

- Take advantage of your return to make a stop and visit Mérida or Valladolid.

PS: You have to arrive early, see when it opens, because the park quickly fills with tourists. If you want to bargain with souvenir vendors, master several Spanish or even Maya words .

TULum

Tulum is a very touristy city on the Caribbean coast . Its Mayan ruins overlooking turquoise water and a white sand beach attract a lot of people all year round. It is a magnificent place to visit if you are passing through the Riviera Maya , this whole area which includes Cancùn, Playa del Carmen, etc.

It is also the perfect place to discover your first cenotes because there are several free in the area, and therefore also enjoy a small free pedicure! Tulum beach is not very big but if you get there early enough you can have a really nice day and take pictures that look like postcards!

My recommendations:

- For a free cenote , go to Cenote crystal.

- For a truly unforgettable experience, go to Diving Cenote and go diving into the depths ...

PS: You can also book a swimming session with dolphins or other sea animals!
